PowerPlay
Partners and Buyer’s Mortgage Expand Philanthropic Programs with Sponsorships
of PrideFest
PowerPlay to Donate Percentage of Each Transaction’s
Proceeds
DENVER, CO (June 1, 2005) -- PowerPlay Partners, LLC.,
a partnership of residential real estate professionals, today announced
it has become the exclusive real estate brokerage sponsor of Denver’s
PrideFest, an annual festival celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender
(LGBT) culture. At the same time, Buyer’s Mortgage, an originator
and processor of mortgage loans, has become PrideFest’s exclusive
mortgage company sponsor. As part of the three-year sponsorship, PowerPlay
Partners will donate to the GLBT Center of Colorado (the Center) a percentage
of the proceeds from every transaction completed.
PrideFest is produced by the Center, the only statewide,
nonprofit community center dedicated to providing support and advocacy
for Colorado’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender population.
“PrideFest is the most anticipated cultural event of the year for
Denver’s LGBT community, a community that has been instrumental
in our own success as a real estate brokerage” said Nathan Hildreth,
vice president, PowerPlay Partners. “We are proud to be able to
honor the community by contributing to this exciting, uplifting and empowering
event.”
“Buyer's Mortgage has built itself and its reputation
on being a diverse work force of community supportive people,” said
Michael S. Young, president, Buyer’s Mortgage. “The celebration
of diversity and community are what PrideFest is all about. We thank the
LGBT community and its supporters for their business, confidence and for
letting us give back.” As an added incentive, Buyer’s Mortgage
is offering a seven-day cruise for two to all customers who complete a
mortgage transaction.
“LGBT citizens want to know that the businesses they deal with
share their values,” said Debora Pollock, director of development
and communication, the Center. “These sponsorships inform the LGBT
community that businesses like PowerPlay Partners and Buyer’s Mortgage
support the community and will have their LGBT customers’ best interests
at heart. We hope that as this affinity program grows, more and more people
will participate to the benefit of all.”
A “giving tree” made with “leaves” showing individual
donations made through the sponsorships will be displayed at the Center.
PrideFest 2005 will be held June 26 at Civic Center Plaza in Denver.
The Center is also holding a Family Field Day on June 25 in conjunction
with PrideFest.
